Prepare Him Room Recap
 |
"Let every heart, prepare him room" is a familiar line
from the traditional Christmas Carol "Joy to the World" and is the annual
theme for the Christmas outreach event for women.
Hark, the Herald Angels Sing! was
the theme for the 2008 Prepare Him Room event held on
Saturday, December 6 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

program and loved the beautiful table decorations. It truly put me
in the holiday mood.”

great fellowship as I seldom get to leave my home as I care for my
ill husband.”
-
“Great
program! Great Food! Great Friends! Great Message!”
This year, there
was a beautiful array of Angel Displays in the Lobby. Below, click
on an image thumbnail below to view a larger image. Thank you to all
of the individuals who loaned their angels for display this year!
Tables
were hosted by First Free women who have specially
decorated their tables with special holiday place settings and
centerpieces.
Once the doors opened, the ladies were able to stroll between the tables
prior to the luncheon to view all the beautiful tables.

Thank you to all of the
ladies who hosted such beautiful tables this year!
Note: Each table is represented
above and are displayed in table number order.
The women
enjoyed an elegant lunch and an inspiring program with guest
speaker, Dawn Gessner who spoke about Angels. We had 44 tables
decorated for 368 dinners served.
Thank you to each of the ladies who decorated and
hosted a table. This outreach event is not possible without your willingness
to volunteer!

Angel Tree
|
Angel Tree is an annual, nationwide Prison Fellowship
Program that enriches the lives of prisoner's children at Christmas. More
than obtaining gifts for needy children, volunteers create a lasting
expression of genuine love. Coordinated through Women's
Ministry, a special
Christmas tree is set up in the church with angel decorations. The angels
include the name of a prisoner's child and their gift wishes. Participating
families select an angel, purchase the gift, and return the wrapped gift to
the church. Volunteers deliver the gift on behalf of the absent parent. This
ministry begins mid-November.
Contact the Women's Ministry office for more
information or to get involved. |
